Dr. Michael Giudici will tentatively speak on cardiology related issues in cyclists at the third annual Medicine of Cycling Conference. He will discuss pre-season screening procedures for different age groups and potential “red flags”. He will address the signs and symptoms that suggest vascular and/or heart disease and offer advice on how to recognize murmurs and arrhythmias on physical exam. In addition he will remind attendees how to effectively use an ECG.
Dr. Giudici received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Iowa and completed his Internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals.
After serving as a Primary Care Physician for the United States Air Force, he completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and his Fellowship in Cardiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the University of Missouri Hospitals in Columbia, Missouri.
Dr. Giudici specializes in Electrophysiology and is involved in the research and development of numerous devices and techniques in the electrophysiology field. He has published over 150 scientific papers and has been named as a Best Doctor in America. In 2007, he was one of 50 physicians in North America to be awarded fellowship by the Heart Rhythm Society.
Dr. Giudici is a member of the Genesis Heart Institute in Davenport, Iowa. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
